Pros
- Free right now with self-serve signup, and the MCP server works (we've used it)
- Nothing reaches OnlyFans until an owner or admin on your team approves it, and the vendor says no setting skips that step
- A sandbox of sample creators on test keys, so you can build before anyone connects a real OnlyFans account
- Every response says when its data was last synced, so you can see how stale it is, and a few routes can read live
- Creators link their own accounts on a hosted page that handles two-factor and the selfie check, and the vendor says the workspace never sees the password
Cons
- No pricing page anywhere on the site, so nothing on record says it stays free
- The terms and the privacy policy are both drafts marked "Not yet in effect", so neither one applies yet
- Writes stop at messaging and fan lists in this version
- Refunds and chargebacks are missing from the transaction data in this version
- OnlyFans only, and the vendor doesn't mention Fansly or Fanvue
- Per the draft privacy policy, removing an account from a workspace doesn't sign the creator out of OnlyFans or delete their stored sign-in details

BetterFans Link is an OnlyFans API with an MCP server on top, and its docs say it never writes to OnlyFans on its own. Sending a message or changing a fan list creates a pending action, and an owner or admin on your team has to approve it before anything happens. Writes are off on every account until someone switches them on, and an action nobody approves expires without going out. The homepage doesn't leave room for workarounds: "There is no setting that skips this."
That matters most when the thing asking to write is an AI agent. Give an agent a creator's inbox and the worst case is a message to a paying fan that nobody on your team would have sent. Here the agent can queue that message, but it waits until someone on your team approves it. We've used BetterFans Link ourselves, and its MCP server works. It's free at the moment, too: you sign up and start, and the help centre says the only thing you need to start is "An email address".
Reads come from data BetterFans has already synced, and each response says when that sync happened. That's useful for an agent, which can check how stale a number is before acting on it. A few routes can be asked for a live read instead, and for anything the documented routes don't cover, a passthrough runs read-only OnlyFans requests through the account's session.
Creators link their own accounts on a hosted BetterFans page, so nobody at your agency has to handle their passwords. The password still lives somewhere, though. The vendor says it's encrypted before it's stored, and BetterFans keeps the session on its own servers, using it "exactly as OnlyFans issued it". This is an unofficial API, and the vendor doesn't pretend otherwise: "OnlyFans does not publish an API for developers". The help centre makes you responsible for staying within the OnlyFans terms and for getting each creator's consent, and the draft terms say the vendor isn't responsible for anything a platform does to an account. Human approval on every write makes a reckless send less likely, but if something goes wrong on the account, that's on you.
The list of things it can write is short. It can send a message or a mass message, unsend one, and add a fan to a list or remove them from one. That's messaging and list-keeping, and nothing more in this version. Anyone who built on the earlier BetterFans SDK has some work to do, because this version replaced it and the previous API outright, and old keys don't work.
Apex Haven LLC, the company behind BetterFans Link, still has its terms and its privacy policy in draft. That's easier to forgive on a free product than a paid one, but you'd still be putting creator sessions into a service whose rules aren't settled.
One line in that draft privacy policy is worth reading before you onboard anyone. Removing an account from your workspace "does not sign the creator out of OnlyFans or delete their sign-in details, which may still serve other workspaces the creator has linked." A creator who leaves your agency should hear that from you, not find it out later.
Use BetterFans Link if you're handing an OnlyFans inbox to an AI agent or chat tool and want a person to approve each message before it goes out, or if you'd like to build against sample creators before going near a real account. Skip it if Fansly matters to you or you need to write more than messages and list changes. And if your agency won't adopt a tool until its prices are published and its terms are in force, wait until both exist.
